Triangulation, a one on one in-depth interview programme with someone in the tech or science community is world class stuff. Reminds me of the Interview programme on BBC World Service that used to run at weekends.
This programme works because host Leo Laporte knows his subjects and has bothered to research interesting points to draw out in the conversation. This two part interview with science-fiction writer Jerry Pournelle is a keeper. Jerry is great, not only because he has been a prolific author. But his blogposts are engaging too.
Hard to believe he is nearly 80 and survived several bouts of serious illness. But that mind is as sharp as a razor. I particularly like his comments about what went wrong with NASA after the Apollo Programme. Just ask NASA what was the budget for the Shuttle?
