Goodbye BBC Television Centre

Enjoyed the farewell concert by the band Madness in-front of BBC Television Centre on Friday. Perhaps it was fitting that there was icy sleet and snow falling as the curtain came down on 53 years of broadcasting from this studio complex in Wood Lane West London. BBC has moved its news operations back to New Broadcasting House and sold this iconic 60's building for 200 million Pounds. Of course we all remember the  shots from outside especially on programmes like Blue Peter. The building well be redeveloped into a hotel, flats, a cinema, office space and the main TV studios will be leased out to production companies, including the BBC, as from next year. Although there is a huge amount of nostalgia associated with the place, from a facilities and logistics standpoint, it has become a hodgepodge of makeshift solutions. But I wonder if the culture of creativity will live on at other places?
