London Tonight
Yikes, what a difference 24 hours can make in the history of a great city. The broadcast networks, especially the BBC, did an excellent job to explain and get the context right. It was clear though that new media (such as www.bbcnews.com) as well as the mobile networks were unable to cope with the sudden peak in demand. Anyone who says that mobile can REPLACE broadcast services was proved wrong this morning. I note that Skype held up remarkably well, when other phone networks went out completely. Thoughts and prayers to all those affected...a very sad day today.
