Inside Look at Hurricane Sandy from WPIX TV in New York

THE FIRST 36 HOURS: An inside look at Hurricane Sandy from Jeff Pinilla on Vimeo.

Thanks to Jim Cutler for spotting this insight into what happened to New York and New Jersey this week. These sort of productions are so much more valuable than most of the mainstream networks have been producing. http://www.wpix.com/

Jeff Pinilla who made the film is a 23 year old, Emmy nominated, film and commercial writer, director, photographer, and producer. His first major recognition was in June 2011, when he was credited for his work as producer and photographer on a print campaign for New Yorks WPIX 11 newscast. His independently produced film, After ever after, earned him nominations for many film festival awards including Beneath the earth film festival, Big apple, and Westchester Film Festival. He should really get an award for this piece of work. Brilliant shots.
New York's WPIX-TV (Channel 11), is the flagship station of The CW Television Network, and is seen in over 10 million homes through over-the-air and satellite distribution.

Founded in 1948 and owned by Tribune Broadcasting, a division of the Tribune Company, PIX11 has long been regarded as a groundbreaking station in New York. In September 2006, PIX11 became the flagship station of the CW Television Network, and its successful primetime programming, award winning news, extensive library of hit movies, first-run programs, off-network sitcom favorites, quality children's programming and public affairs shows, as well as outstanding event coverage, have contributed to the station's success. PIX11 has earned nearly 200 Emmy Awards, including two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning News Program and multiple Emmy Awards for Outstanding Newscast. The station has been honored with numerous other awards for excellence in reporting, news coverage, public affairs, specials and features. In addition, PIX11 has been the official broadcast television home of the New York Mets since 1999.

Jeff has other videos on Vimeo which deserve wider attention.Smart editing.

And Jim posted some of his work in trailing coverage of the recovery on WPIX. "Issues are like tissues - you take one away and another pops up".
