Russia Today campaign
Interested to see several of these posters across tube stations in South London. They are from the Russian satellite network Russia Today. Can you imagine similar posters twenty years ago from Radio Moscow World Service? No, neither can I.
Can you imagine similar Radio Moscow campaign in old days?
Well, yes I can. In content anyway. A recent ad in the Daily Telegraph showing Mr Obama morph into the Iranian President as a prime nuclear threat was every bit as crude and hostile in its anti-Americanism.

New medium but recognizable message!

Or have I just forgotten about Jonathan's sense of irony!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Radio Moscow would or could have hired a billboard in the West to encourage people to tune in during the height of the Cold War.
ReplyDeleteOf course, agree on that. My comment was more about return of harsh anti-Americanism in Russian international broadcasting and communication. DL
